Beautiful and wonderful, sterling silver brooch of a beautiful Peruana dancing a traditional dance. In addition to their bright and colorful traditional Andean clothing and lively choreographies, Peruvian dancers are well-known for the mysticism and passion that each dancer brings to the festival, carnival or celebratory event.

Peruvian traditional dress is very important because it tells the story of its history and culture along with music and dance. This gorgeous woman is dressed in her very finest, special occasion clothing to add color and life to the celebration which consists of layers of a red lliclla or manta (a “cape” or “shawl”), a dark blue jobona (“wool jacket”), a turquoise blue, yellow, lapis blue and green pollera, (an embroidered “skirt”) and a green montera (a traditional ‘hat”) in vibrant enamel that brings the dancer to life. Raised above her head is the traditional cordón de borlas y pompones tejidos coloridos (“woven tassels and pompoms”) intended to hypnotize and enchant onlookers.
