Vintage Ecuador Inca Traditional Storyteller Folklore Silver Brooch

ayquebella.com

Charming and traditional, Incan storyteller, 5-dangle bracelet in .900 Silver, skillfully handcrafted by an Ecuadorian artisan or artisans. Each hammered, circular dangle contains a 3-dimensional image of classical, Ecuadorian life, and is coated with a gentle, undisturbed, natural patina. The first dangle is a woman wearing a poncho and carrying a bundle tied on her back (most likely her child); the second dangle is a cheery, smiling sun; the third dangle is a choza (a traditional, palm-thatched roof hut); the fourth dangle is a woman wearing the traditional large, upturned brimmed hat and carrying a vase; and the fifth dangle is panpipes (the Andean pan flute). The main focal point of the brooch which showcases all five dangles is a stately, Incan woman with strong and regal features wearing two side braids, tied and draped with “ribbons,” and framing the sides of her head. Each dangle is connected to the main brooch by O-rings. A very fine and authentic piece of rich, Ecuadorian folkloric culture.
