This beautiful, made in Israel, sterling silver Ten Commandments Mezuzah pendant has an artistic, raised design of the Hebrew letter ש (“Shin”) for El Shadai, and the Hebrew 10 Commandments engraved on two tablets. The decorative pendant “case” has a small opening in the back that is intended to hold a tiny scroll of special parchment inscribed with specific Hebrew verses from the Torah, a prayer, or gentle words of encouragement. Mezuzot have a special historical significance and have acted as protective charms for centuries. These Jewish talismans are often affixed to the door frame of homes to fulfill the mitzvah (the Biblical Commandment) or, most recently, worn around the neck, hidden from public view, as a gentle reminder of God’s blessings and protection to destroy negative energies and evil eyes.
