Vintage Chile Copper Storyteller Folklore Panel Bracelet

ayquebella.com

Wonderful and folkloric, Chilean storyteller, 5-panel bracelet in heavy gauge copper. Masterfully decorated with enamel images of Chileno pride. Each of the five, O-ring connected, rectangular panels contains a painted “story” of traditional life in Chile.

The first panel contains a traditionally dressed huaso (Chilean cowboy) riding a bucking horse. The second panel contains several copihue (bellflowers that are the national flowers of Chile). The third panel has a guitar tied with a handkerchief, a chupalla (a traditional cowboy hat), the Chilean flag, and cowboy spurs, with the name, Chile. The fourth panel has mountains just beyond the blue Riñihue lake. The fifth panel, which is in two parts with a box clasp between, to allow easy access to put on and remove the bracelet from the wrist, has an enameled woman and man dancing la cueca, the national dance of Chile, and are dressed in traditional dance finery. The woman is wearing a dress with an apron and the man is wearing a huaso’s sombrero hat, riding pants, and boots

The bracelet is 7”L and is coated with a very slight, undisturbed, natural patina, and is hallmarked, Ind. Chilena, the abbreviation for Industria Chileana (Made in Chile).
