Vintage Haiti Pewter Pendant with Leather Cord Necklace

ayquebella.com

Fantastic vintage pendant of a Haitian woman from La République d'Haïti, a nation that discreetly reveals a rich culture with strong African roots that is unique among post-colonial nations. The Republic of Haiti is known as the Land of Mountains and is the second oldest independent nation, and the first black republic, in the Western Hemisphere. The third largest country in the Caribbean proudly displays the motto, Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity) and ever so subtly does this glorious, pewter pendant. She skillfully balances a jug or an urn on her head with one hand, and from her ears, she wears two red bead dangle “earrings” that move as she does. Beneath her she is adorned with the proud word, Haiti.

This wonderful pendant is prominently displayed on a 24-inch long leather cord necklace and is coated with a very light, undisturbed, natural patina. This pendant is intended to be worn with abundant pride.
