Vintage Panama Pollera Panel Choker Necklace

ayquebella.com

Gorgeous and attention-grabbing, Panamanian panel-link necklace with three enamel painted panels. Each panel contains an image of women dressed in the traditional pollera, a folkloric costume that embodies the rich cultural diversity of the Republic of Panama. The special occasion dress is comprised of two separated pieces that consist of a shirt and a pollerón (a long skirt) that are adorned with delicate lace and elaborate embroidery, tembleques (gold hair combs), gold jewelry, and mota (pom-poms). This style of dress is typically worn during celebrations and carnavales (carnivals).

This panel necklace is a very beautiful statement piece. The gold-tone, rolo chain necklace and the back of the panels have a slight, undisturbed, natural patina and displays very delicately from the neck.
