This very pretty, silver coin pendant has a wonderful cut-out of the coat of arms emblem of La República de Guatemala: The resplendent quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala which represents liberty; a scroll of parchment with the words, Libertad 15 de Septiembre de 1821 which represents the date of independence from Spain; two crossed Remington rifles with bayonets representing a warning of Guatemala’s willingness to defend itself by force, if needed; a bay laurel wreath representing victory; and two crossed sabers (swords) representing the honor of the Guatemalan people. It also has a cut-out 0,835 for the coin silver purity and the year 1895.
