Vintage Brazilian Bombshell Samba Dancer Silver Sweater Guard

ayquebella.com

This amazing Samba dancer sweater guard, reminiscent of the original Brazilian Bombshell, Carmen Miranda, is timeless and attractive. The dancer is wearing a traditional Baiana dress with wide skirt and a fruit-filled head turban, similar to what Carmen Miranda wore in vintage Hollywood movies.

Sweater guards (or sweater clips) were incredibly popular in the 1950’s and were worn to hold and secure a lightweight cardigan or shawl loose on the shoulders. Today, it’s a unique way to personalize or make a fun fashion statement and they can be found almost anywhere one would like to add a touch of unexpected whimsy: collar tips, dress shirts, blouses, vests, sashes or on a belt as a decoration. And sweater guards add a bit of bling near your neckline!

This gorgeous sweater guard conveniently attaches with the help of alligator-type clips that are linked together by a curb chain. Both the sweater guard and chain are coated with an undisturbed, natural patina which is consistent with age, and show very little signs of wear, if any. This sweater guard is a trendy and charming find! A fabulous surprise when worn on your favorite sweater, shirt, or jacket!
