Beautiful and delicate, Italian micro mosaic tile on an oval-shaped, gold-tone pendant and choker necklace. Tiny fragments of glossy, colored glass (“tesserae”) are painstakingly and masterfully set into a highly detailed and colorful scene of a cascade flora which is gently bordered by a gold-tone, scrolled filigree frame. Creating micro mosaics is an extremely laborious art form which requires a rarefied talent of precision and skill. The mosaicist uses tiny tweezers to apply hundreds, sometimes thousands, of tiny tesserae to create incredibly detailed and beautiful scenes.
