Gorgeous sterling silver pendant charm of the Great Seal of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico! The beautiful, raised and dimensional, circular seal has several figures that the Spanish Crown gave to Puerto Rico in the earlier part of the 16th Century. The lamb in the center of the pendant charm represents peace and confraternity. Above the lamb, is a rack of arrows representing the creative force. There are two letters, F and I for the names of the Spanish royals, Fernando and Isabel. Written in Latin at the bottom of the inner circle is JOHANNES EST NOMEN EJUS for “John is his name” referring to St. John the Baptist or San Juan Bautista, the original Spanish name of the island. Surrounding the outer edge of the circular pendant charm are the towers of Castile, the lions of Leon, Jerusalem crosses and Spanish flags that signify Puerto Rico's heritage. The intricate details of the great seal rise above a solid, round, flattened, convex sterling silver base.
