On the other side (the reverse), the charm pendant is the great Coat of Arms emblem with another Quetzal bird sitting atop a scroll of parchment with the words, Libertad 15 de Septiembre de 1821, which represents the date of independence from Spain; two crossed Remington rifles with bayonets representing a warning of Guatemala’s willingness to defend itself by force, if needed; a bay laurel wreath representing victory; and two crossed sabers (swords) representing the honor of the Guatemalan people. It also has 0,720 for the coin silver purity and the year 1945 for the year of standard circulation.
