What an absolutely gorgeous and eye-catching pair of sterling silver drop dangle earrings! Each of these pretty earrings is of a Hanukkiah (a Hanukkah menorah), a 9-branch candleholder to celebrate the “Festival of Lights.” Hanukkah translates to dedication in Hebrew and the holiday pays tribute to the dedication of a group of Jews who believed fervently in their right to religious and nationalist freedom, and celebrates the miracle that G-d performed for the ancestors in the days of old. Each earring has eight candleholders of the same height and a ninth branch, the shammash (the helper candle), in the center is set slightly higher than the rest. At the base of each is a modest Magen David, symbolic of Jewish faith.
